Discreet or discrete?

Take the phrase "she wiped her mouth discretely". Now look at the definition of "discrete":


And "discreet":


So:
"The man was discreetly removed."

Remember:
* [dis]Crete is an island, seperate; and
* discreet is the opposite of ostentatious.
